Ein klitzekleiner Zwischenbericht

Mittlerweile sind die Bänder geflochten.
The braids are all done.
Soon I'll start with the pattern for the winter habit.
This time the progress is going quite gradually, as - some of you already know - my husband and I are also working on the restauration of an old chair from the early Biedermeier. Meanwhile the woodwork is completed and we're facing the "adventure" of upholstery. Linen belts/straps, linen, springs, horsehair and afrique are eagerly waiting for manufacture.
This is the chair few weeks ago - pity...hopefully I'll have some progress pictures here soon...

  1. Good work on the braids. Am hoping it was relaxing.

Nice find on the chair. The Biedermeier is so calming and comfortable an era, just as I am pretty sure it was meant to be after previous centuries of upheavals.

So you all upholster furniture, too? Am most impressed. My mother and I often talk of learning, but it has yet to come to pass. Curtains, blinds, and cushions are about all I can do.

    Very best,

    Natalie
