Ja, was soll ich da sagen:
With all those amazing garments to sew, my husband often hears me sighing
"If only I'd have another pair of arms!"
Well, here they are:

Unfortunately these arms are not a huge help sewing-wise, but they'll be of good aid when it comes to giving a dress a bit more grace on the dress form. I got the idea from the lovely dressforms on American Duchess' and  Alwa Petroni's websites.
As we have a lack of dressforms with arms over here (unless you're not willing to pay a huge amount of money), I've bought a pair of old arms from a shop's model, which will soon be added to my second dressform.

But there are more finds for this month to share. Since yesterday my nose is buried in one of the most amazing and entertaining books ever! For all, who are fond of history (and I'm not talking of sober dates or political issues, but the history of daily life), this wonderful read will warm your heart:
Bill Bryson, At Home. A short history of private life (2010)

And last but not least something for the dashing gentleman, who is willing to change his boots from time to time for a proper pair of dancing shoes:

  1. Ooohh...arms. I can't wait to see how they work out for you.

A very close friend of mine is always reading or recommending Bill Bryson books. And now, with your recommendation, I'm even more interested. I must add that to my reading list!

  2. Just curious- Is this the same Bill Bryson who wrote A Walk in the Woods? I am assuming so. His books are favorites at our house. My husband uses A Walk in the Woods in his university course/Appalachian studies. (I think he even met Bill Bryson at some point.) All his books are great reads! -sj
