I also think it's the combination of 'real books' and online sources and exchange, which really works best!
Yet I always feel happier, more confident and complete with paper printed versions, hence I tend to print out a lot of information...I'm also fond of book binding.
The reprint books in my collcetion are all written in German, I'm afraid. But it would be fun to learn wether there are reprints/fasimiles of english and french almanacs and periodicals.
Kleidung um 1800https://www.blogger.com/profile/09187943106849398728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5761447847535936705.post-82796098667174490872013-11-09T18:16:18.674+01:002013-11-09T18:16:18.674+01:00I also like the feel of a book in my hand the cris...I also like the feel of a book in my hand the crisp, whisper of a turning page. However, I am thankful for the digital age which has allowed us the access to a wealth of the written and illustrated word about our society's past - the good and the bad. There is so much to learn. I have a collection of facsimile cook books from the 16th to the 20th century that I love and use. I have sewing manuals from the 19th and early 20th century that are so useful! Most of my historical fashion books are the usual edited ones from museum collections or someone's research using the same old images over and over again, this is why I like the digitalization of the extant fashion plates that is beginning to show up on the book shelves. Thanks for sharing. Are most of the books you showed above in German? Where can they be found? Amazon?

Herzlichst ConstanzeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5761447847535936705.post-74936606239484829862013-11-08T17:31:04.928+01:002013-11-08T17:31:04.928+01:00Thank you very much, Sabine, very interesting link...Thank you very much, Sabine, very interesting link. atelierpolonaisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12221915032674869681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5761447847535936705.post-24275721920298321312013-11-08T16:11:02.160+01:002013-11-08T16:11:02.160+01:00Yes, you are absolutely right, the copper plates i...Yes, you are absolutely right, the copper plates in the Goettinger Taschenkalender were partially contributed by Daniel Chodowiecki.
If you like to see the whole collection online, please follow the link to the Bielefeld University: http://ds.ub.uni-bielefeld.de/viewer/toc/2235093/1/LOG_0000/;jsessionid=1624BD3E90E4B9CF6286A75DF33B52CB
Kleidung um 1800https://www.blogger.com/profile/09187943106849398728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5761447847535936705.post-7356403320344747082013-11-08T15:13:19.661+01:002013-11-08T15:13:19.661+01:00The last photograph of Daniel Chodowieckiego I rec...The last photograph of Daniel Chodowieckiego I recognize drawings?
