Mein erstes paar Kniebundhosen für den Herrn habe ich nach der Schnittanleitung aus Elizabeth Friendships Buch "Pattern cutting for men's costume" erarbeitet - und die Hosen sitzen ziemlich gut!
Allerdings ist bei dem Schnitt keinerlei Tasche vorgesehen, sondern höchstens die kleine "Uhrentasche" am Bund. Auf einigen Abbildungen von Museen und auf den derzeit auf dem Markt befindlichen Schnittmustern trifft man häufig auf Taschen, die bis an die Seitennähte der Hose reichen,
aber was bitte ist das:

But there's no hint to pockets in this this pattern, except the mention of a small watchpocket. Well, on some pictures of extant garments and some patterns on the market you'll see pockets at the sides (buttoned to the waistband),
but what's this:
Ähem! Das hat mich nun doch ein bisschen verwirrt, denn dort ist doch nur die Frontklappe, oder?!
Das habe ich zumindest bisher angenommen, denn gestern landete in meinem Postkasten das Buch "Die Kostümsammlung Bassermann Jordan" und dort ist der Schnitt zu einer Kniebundhose und - tatsächlich! - ist dort erwähnt, dass es auf der rechten Seite hinter der Klappe eine kleine Tasche gibt!

Actually that was what I thought until I received the book "Die Kostümsammlung Bassermann Jordan", where I found the pattern for a pair of breeches and - really! - it is mentioned that there is a small pocket on the right side just behind the flap!
Soweit so gut, aber wie um Himmels Willen wird die Tasche dort befestigt? (Ich muß in diesem Zusammenhang zugeben, dass ich auch immer noch überlege, wie die seitlichen Taschen eingefügt werden, da ich mich bislang für keines der derzeit angebotenen Schnittmuster entscheiden kann)
Direkt zwischen Klappe und den Flügeln?
Oder in der Naht vom Vorderteil der Hose und den Flügeln?
Ich bin für jeden Hinweis dankbar!
So far, so good, but how on earth is this pocket attached? (By the way I have to admit that I still try to figure out how to attach the side pockets, because I couldn't decide on one of the available patterns on the market)
Is this small pocket attached between the frontflap and the wings behind?
Or between the seams of the front and the wings?
I appreciate every single hint!
